Jean R. Spencer and his wife Beverly started our family owned and operated construction company in 1977 under Contractors State Licence #340167. We started out building custom and spec homes, small apartments and doing remodel projects. We performed all the building trades ourselves to gain experience and become fully knowledgeable with all aspects of construction. In the years that followed we built a reputation on that knowledge and the quality of work provided. In 1981 our business had grown and we incorporated under Constractors State License #412180. In 1993 we were contacted to solve a problem for a homeowner whose house was sinking. Jean and David, always looking for the next challenge and for ways to help someone, agreed to help the homeowner find a solution. After extensive product research and meetings with structural and geotechnical engineers, Jean and David determined the best possible repair option for lifting and stabilizing the house was to install Chance helical piers. We believe we were the first contractor to ever install a helical pier in San Luis Obispo County. This is where our foundation repair business started. After successfully completing the first project we began to see a real need for a foundation repair service in our community. Until this time no one in the area specialized in installing helical piers or strictly in foundation repair. Over the next couple of years we started doing more of these projects and found it was a specialty we really enjoyed. Over the last couple of decades we have continued to expand our line of products and the services we provide. Today the company is owned and operated by the second generation, David Spencer and his wife Lori. They continue to operate with the highest standards and treat every job as if it is their own.
